Starting therapy often brings up questions about what to expect. Below are answers to some of the questions people ask most often.

  • Sessions are $250 for 50 minutes.

I am a private-pay provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients receive partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. I’m happy to provide the documentation needed for you to submit to your insurance company.

  • I live on Long Island and work with clients throughout New York State. All sessions take place online, which allows people across the state — including New York City, Westchester, and upstate regions — to access therapy without needing to travel.

  • The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what has brought you to therapy.

We’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant background, and what you hope to change or better understand. This conversation helps us determine whether working together feels like a good fit and how therapy might best support you.

  • IMost clients begin with weekly sessions. Meeting consistently helps build momentum and allows us to understand patterns more clearly. As therapy progresses, the frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and goals.tem description

  • The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and the patterns we’re working with.

Some people come for a focused period of time around a specific concern. Others choose longer-term work to better understand longstanding patterns or develop more lasting changes in how they respond to stress, anxiety, or relationships.

  • Sessions take place through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Before each session, you’ll receive a link to join the appointment. At the scheduled time, you simply click the link to enter the session.

  • Many people who come to therapy with me have already spent a lot of time thinking about their anxiety or trying to manage it on their own. Therapy focuses less on quick fixes and more on understanding the patterns that keep anxiety going.

Rather than simply managing symptoms, our work looks at the underlying expectations, thought processes, and pressures shaping how you respond to stress. The goal is to develop a steadier relationship with anxiety so it no longer dominates how you think and decide.

  • If something else is on your mind, you’re welcome to reach out. Beginning therapy is an important step, and it’s reasonable to want clarity about how the process works.m description
